PlateManager
PlateManager brings plate change planning, plate ordering and version approval together in a browser-based application. It helps coordinate prepress and the pressroom, particularly for jobs with many versions and changing plate assignments.
Automatic optimization of the production sequence takes place in Impose. PlateManager makes the resulting change plan available at the press console and lets operators respond to changes at short notice.
Adapt change plans to production needs
A plate arrives late, or another version needs to run first: operators can change the sequence of plate sets directly in the browser. The required plate changes and plate count are recalculated for the revised sequence.
The plan shows plate assignments by web, form side and color channel. Run lengths, revolutions, plate status and print status are shown in the same overview. Run lengths can be adjusted, and completed plates or printed versions can be marked accordingly.
Reorder the plates you need
Operators select replacement plates by web, form side and color channel. This allows them to request an individual plate without reordering the entire set.
The order is passed to the connected Impose workflow. Its processing status is visible in PlateManager. With email integration configured, notifications about plate orders can also be sent.
Check and approve versions before printing
Version approval combines a version overview with page previews. Pages that change from the preceding version are marked. The image viewer offers a fitted view, actual size and double magnification, with the option to pan across the image.
The person granting approval is recorded with the approval. At a shift change, approvals for versions that have not yet been printed can be reset so that they can be checked again.
Keep track of jobs and presses
The job overview can be filtered by Impose system and printing press and sorted by the displayed job details. It refreshes regularly. Both the job overview and the plate change plan can be exported as PDF files.
User accounts and a separate permission to change the plate change plan help assign responsibilities within the team. Light and dark display modes are available for working in the browser.
